The hardest part of social media isn't the posting — it's staring at the blank caption box at 8 PM with nothing to say. So here's the list to keep: thirty concrete ideas, organized into a four-week rotation. Steal them in order or cherry-pick; either works.
A note before the list: don't post all thirty in a month. Pick your sustainable schedule — three a week is plenty — and pull from here. This list is a well, not a checklist.
Week 1 — Prove your work
- Before / after. The most convincing post any service business can make. Two photos, minimal caption.
- Job of the week. One recent project, three sentences: the problem, what you did, the result.
- Customer review screenshot. Take your latest 5-star review, put it on a clean background, thank them. (No reviews coming in? Fix that first.)
- The numbers post. "This month: 47 cakes, 212 cafecitos, 1 quinceañera survived." Light, human, credible.
- Time-lapse or process video. The thing you do daily is fascinating to people who've never seen it done.
- A mistake you fixed. Work you corrected (tactfully anonymous). Positions you as the one who does it right.
- Tool or product spotlight. What you use and why — signals craft and expertise.
Week 2 — Teach something
- Answer the #1 question. The one you answer on the phone every single day.
- "3 signs you need [your service]." Format works for everyone: AC techs, dentists, accountants.
- Myth vs. fact. The misconception that costs your customers money.
- How to choose a provider. What to look for in any business like yours — including the questions that expose corner-cutters. Confidence sells. (We did it ourselves: how to choose an agency.)
- Seasonal tip. What your customers should do this month — hurricane prep, tax deadlines, holiday orders.
- Cost breakdown. "Why does X cost what it costs?" Honest pricing content builds more trust than any slogan.
- Quick tutorial. The 30-second version of something simple. Give value away; the complicated jobs still come to you.
Week 3 — Show the humans
- Team introduction. One person, their name, what they do, one non-work fact.
- Founder story. Why the business exists. It doesn't need to be dramatic — real beats epic.
- Behind the scenes. The 6 AM prep, the van loaded for the day, the closing routine.
- Celebrate a milestone. Anniversary, 100th customer, new equipment — invite your audience into the win.
- Day in the life. Stitch 5–6 short clips into one Reel (Reels how-to here).
- Your workspace. Shop, kitchen, truck, desk — where the magic happens, honestly shown.
- Bloopers / outtakes. The imperfect takes are often the most-liked post of the month. Perfection is forgettable.
Week 4 — Be part of the neighborhood
- Shout out another local business. Genuine praise for a neighbor (not a competitor). Tag them — this is how local networks form.
- Local event post. What's happening in town this weekend — useful even when it's not about you.
- Local landmark or view. The shot from your storefront; the street you've served for a decade. Location-tag it.
- Community involvement. The team you sponsor, the drive you support — show it without humble-bragging.
- Ask a local question. "Best cafecito in Pembroke Pines — go." Engagement posts work when they're genuinely fun to answer.
- This or that. Two options, ask people to pick. Low effort, real comments.
- Poll in Stories. Let customers vote on something you'll actually act on — new flavor, new hours, new color.
Anytime
- The FAQ carousel. Five questions, five slides, save-worthy.
- Re-share your best performer. Your top post from three months ago is new to most of today's audience. Repost it without guilt.
Make the list work
Batch your week in one sitting. Real photos over stock, always. Name your city often. And when a post works — more of that, immediately.
Or skip the 8 PM caption box entirely: we run this whole system for local businesses from $400/month, ideas included. Either way, you now have no excuse for "we didn't know what to post."
